News and changes in October and November.

The production season has been compromised by a bad methereologic state caratterized by many rain.
That fact delayed the envelop of the family.
Let' us analyze the production of different kind of honey.

Attention:
1) The prices are variable, mainly acacia ones.
2) The prices of the 300 kg drums, and of the 25 kg tins are reported to a minimum quantitaty of 20 quintals
3) The prices of jars are refered to supermarket prices.
4) All th prices are refered to ITALIAN HONEY.

Agrumi

THe production was so scarce, mainly in Sicilia and in the south of Calabria.
In the north of Calabria the production in quite good.
The production of 1995 has been not very good.
Price of 300 kg drum: 4200/4500 £/kg
Price of 25 kg tin: 5000/6500 £/kg
Price of 1 kg jar: 8300/9600 £/kg

Acacia

The production of this honey started not very well 'couse of the methereologic situation.
Anyway the second production was quitte good.
The product is of good quality.
Price of 300 kg drum: 6000/6500 £/kg
Price of 25 kg tin: 6500/7300 £/kg
Price of 1 kg jar: 8000/13600 £/kg

Millefiori

Bad production mainly in the south.
The product is very dark.
Price of 300 kg drum: 3200/4400 £/kg
Price of 25 kg tin: 3800/4600 £/kg
Price of 1 kg jar: 7200/9600 £/kg

Castagno

Production very bad under 300 m.
Bad on montain.
Price of 300 kg drum: 3500/4000 £/kg
Price of 25 kg tin: 3800/4800 £/kg
Price of 1 kg jar: 7500/9000 £/kg

Girasole

Medium-good production in Marche and in Toscana.
Production not so good in some areas.
Price of 300 kg drum: 3300/3800 £/kg
Price of 25 kg tin: 3200/4000 £/kg
Price of 1 kg jar: 6500/7600 £/kg

Eucalipto
Production quite good but under the normal production.
Price of 300 kg drum: 4200/4500 £/kg
Price of 25 kg tin: 4500/4800 £/kg
Price of 1 kg jar: 7300/9000 £/kg

With this list we want to quiet or allarm them who want to become beekeepers.
First of all we can tell that it isn' t necessary a big space to breed an hive.
You have to buy the necessary tools.

1 Veil (indispensable)
1 White suit
1 Pair of gloves (facultative for the expert)
1 Pair of boots (only if you have much fear)

The prices of this tools are variable (120.000/200.000 lire)

You need also the bees.
They will cost from 100.000 to 150.000 lire each family.

You need an hive, it costs from 120.000 to 150.000 lire.
You also need a smoker and a crow-bar for a total of 50.000 lire.

Total: 390.000/500.000 lire (for one hive, but we suggest to buy more than one).
